BEAMAN MEMORIAL LIBRARY LETTERBOX

Please check library hours prior to starting the letterbox.

Enter the library from the main entrance. Pass through the main doors and look to the right. This is the sitting room where new books are located. Notice the large portraits hung on the wall. The gentleman on the right is Ezra Beaman Jr. The portrait on the left is George Calvin Rice. He is the great grandson of Ezra Beaman. He donated money and helped with construction of the Beaman Library in 1911.
Leaving the sitting room turn right. Just ahead on the left is the adult circulation desk. Do you have any Questions?
Pass the circulation desk and take a left towards the young adult area. See if you can find games to borrow for Wii and Play Station.
Turn back towards the circulation desk. Pass the desk and to the left is the DVD and audio area.
Walk past the DVD’s to the stairwell on the left. Continue upstairs to the Children’s Room, or take the elevator to the second floor.
Off the elevator to the left, or straight ahead from the stairs is the children's playroom. Stop in to see all the picture books and board books for you to borrow. How many kites do you see?
After you are done in the playroom walk out the gates head straight to the circulation desk. On the left side of the desk are our Red Eared Slider turtles "Hocus" and "Pocus". To the left of them are our birds "Cricket” and "Atticus". Can you guess what kind of birds they are? On the left is the Story Hour room where "Mother Goose", "Books and Blankies" and many other programs are held. Behind you are chapter books and early readers.
Walk back to the right of the elevator into the Non Fiction section. Do you see any alligators lying around? Feel free to sit and read them a story. How many kites are flying above you? Look to the back wall at the magazines you can borrow.
Go to the bottom right shelf. It is probably empty. Lift the shelf up and you should find a metal tin that looks like a library.
The book stamp, ink pad and journal are in the tin. If you have your own stamp, place that into the library journal with your name and the date. If you do not have a stamp of your own, use the library’s book stamp to stamp the journal. Don’t forget to write your name and the date.
Have Fun!!!
