Trail Length: Approximately 2 miles round trip
Trail Difficulty: Moderate
Clue Difficulty: Easy

Directions to trail head: Get off I-5 at the Merlin exit #61 (three miles north of Grants Pass) and head West on Merlin -Galice road 10 miles. (Through the town of Merlin, over Hellgate Bridge and then to Indian Mary Campground). Once you've reached the campground turn left into the old weigh station directly across from the campground.

Clues: Before you begin your trek up the winding mountain trail check behind the Umpqua Joe Trail Sign there should be a few walking sticks for those who need one. (Be sure to replace when done). Now proceed up the trail keeping in mind that there are many side trails, as long as you stay on the main one and head upward you will get to your destination. There is an old bench about 3/4 mile the way up, stop to rest your legs and enjoy the view. When well enough rested, continue on up the trail until you come to a large rock outcrop with a view. You will be able to see parts of the Rogue River and of Indian Mary Park if you look hard enough. From here you can keep walking up the trail to the top of the mountain, but to find the letterbox you will need to go back the way you came. There will be a big boulder on your right and directly across from it there is an oak tree shaped like a "Y". At the base of the tree, on the downhill side, behind a big piece of moss is what your looking for. Good luck and happy hunting!!!! :o)

P.S. Please carefully remove and put back as though never touched, Also this box contains no pens or inkpads so please bring your own and out of consideration of other letterboxers, wipe stamps clean with paper towels in letterbox (especially if using black ink).
