Semper Fidelis is latin for "Always Faithful" or "Always Loyal". It has served as a slogan for many families and entities, in many countries, dated to have been started no later than the 16th century. We created the original Semper Fidelis letterbox in honor of our wedding day. Although we're not from Fredericksburg, this is where we were married and placed the box within minutes of finalizing our vows to each other. We thought it would be a fun way of celebrating our unity and tried to come up with something unique. Unfortunately, our box went missing shortly after it was placed. Only a few people had the opportunity to find it. We returned to Fredericksburg the following year and placed a new box in celebration of our 1 year wedding anniversary, so I hope everyone enjoys this letterbox as much as us!! We named it Semper Fidelis II because it replaces the original which has been retired. We chose a new location so hopefully it will last longer this time!

To the box: The approximate location of the box is at the corner of Crockett St. and San Antonio St. in Fredericksburg, TX. If coming from 290 you would be making a left onto Crockett from Main St. You can turn onto Nimitz Pkwy where you can park in the lot which is located just behind the buildings on Main. There you will see a gazebo which is where you want to be. There are 2 sets of stairs on it, stand at the stairs so that if looking through the gazebo it will have you facing the Gillespie County Law Enforcement building. Main St. will be on your left and San Antonio on your right. (Stay on the ground, not inside of the gazebo) If you look directly to your left, in the distance you can see a fountain - that fountain is where we exchanged our vows to each other and became husband and wife! Now look down to your left at the base of the gazebo you will notice a gap in the lattice work around it. You can find our box here, behind a concrete block and large rock. Please be stealthy in finding and replacing this box!!
