Heading in your car from Wellfleet Center, go West on Route 6 and turn Left at the traffic light for Marconi Beach. Cross over the bike path, and turn Left at the Marconi Station Site sign. Follow straight to the parking lot and find a spot!

Look North and see the mouth of the Atlantic Cedar Swap trail, to the left of the picnic tables and "comfort station". At the first fork pick up an pamphlet, detailing the natural and anthropogenic history of this unique resource area, and follow the directional sign, bearing Left down the marked trail. Keep your eyes on the ground and follow this rambling trail as it widens and narrows, ascending and descending using both natural tree roots and wooden steps to guide your step. Along this path you will find informational markers pointing out the different plant species along the way, take your time to read these and identify them. This is all part of the fun!

Continue walking until you reach the marked entrance to the Atlantic White Cedar Swap. Instead of proceeding straight onto the boardwalk, stop here and walk Left down the wide, sandy trail.

Walk for about 3 minutes and look for an established walking path on your left, which is slightly elevated compared to the main trail (and also directly across from another established walking path). Bear Left down this path, and you will soon pass under a cluster of skinny trees on the right hand side, whose branches sway diagonally across the narrow path, about 6 feet above the ground. Watch your head! Continue a short distance, about 100 feet, to another tree on your right whose branches extend straight across the trail, nearly at a 90 degree angle. Stop here!

Just behind this tree there is felled trunk, and behind and under it you will find this letter box, just out of sight of the path.

Good job! Please leave the box closed tightly with all of its contents and hidden from view, so that others may also have joy in the adventure of finding it!

Now turn around and go back in the direction you came, this time strolling the boardwalk through the Atlantic White Cedar Swap. Upon completing the trail, follow the marked signs to the Marconi Site Parking Lot, which will lead you back from where you came.

Before leaving visit the Observation Platform and Marconi Station Shelter, delivering expansive views of the Atlantic Ocean- both easily access from the parking lot.
