The Ashumet Holly Wildlife Sanctuary is on Ashmet Rd, just off Currier Rd. which is off Rt 151 in Falmouth. Go up to the kiosk, pay your fee and borrow or buy a trail map. This is a relatively small area but with lots to see at various times of the year.

To find the box, follow the sign for the trails and start on the left branch of the Ashmet Farm Trail. Then after the memorial, take the English Holly Trail. After a right curve and down hill section, look for the tree on the left that came down with its roots. It has been cut off at the edge of the path. On the right, you’ll see a blue dot on a tree, then a downed tree with split ends near the base. Look in the top of the base. Make sure the box is covered well when you’re done.

If you missed the spot, you’ll come to an opening with signs for 4 trails and a tree and a water view.
