From Interstate 68, take exit 14 for Route 219 South.
Drive approximately 15 miles south and cross over Deep Creek Lake.
Continue approximately 1.7 miles and park in the Lakeside Creamery (on the left) parking lot. (The owners are okay with this! The Creamery is open the end of April – mid October)
Stand between Lakeside Creamery and the building with the Copper Kettle Popcorn Factory, FunTime Watersports, Sacred Ground, etc.
Face the lake.
To the left on the back of the building is a sign, “Funtime Watersports WaveRunner Rentals.”
Go under this sign & down the ramp (not up the stairs) towards the stairs that go down to the lake. Be careful, the ramp may be slippery or slick in rainy/snowy weather.
Walk down the stairs that lead to the lake. In the summer there are docks in the lake for WaveRunners.
Go down to the 2nd landing and turn around to face the building.
Under the bottom stair (the 1 just above this landing) there is a rock on the left.
The letterbox is under the rock in a bag.
If the stairs &/or the docks are busy, hang out and enjoy the view until it is okay to get the letterbox out.
(The employees/owner of FunTime Watersports & Lakeside Creamery are “in” on the secret of the letterbox.)
