This letterbox was planted on Plant a Letterbox Day 2013 in honor of Merlin, the cat. Merlin's adventure began two weeks after his birth. A cow scooped Merlin up and carried him from the pasture back to the barn in her mouth. The cow sought out her farmer and dropped Merlin off. I wondered how in the world would a cow find a kitten in a pasture....then Merlin MEOWed! I got it. This is the udder truth.

This walk is in the Mohawk Trail Conservation Area/Franklin Land Trust.
The walk is about a half mile round trip on a fairly flat path. This box doesn't have an ink pad or pen.

The parking area for the DRWA is on Route 2, better known as The Mohawk Trail. It is in Shelburne Falls across from Shelburne Falls Mini Self Storage. (Between Arbations Hardware and the Police Barracks).

CLUES:

After you have parked, go to the "Mahicaon-Mohawk" trail sign. Step over the log to the left of the sign onto the white blazed dirt trail. Just follow the trail. When you get to the river, the path turns left and the river will be on your right. The path will start down hill. When you get to the large rocks that cross the path, stop. Take 30 steps down the path. Turn left and you will see a 6 inch pipe in the ground painted blue. Notice the tree to the left of the pipe with three blue painted slashes. The box is behind the rock touching the tree.

Please double bag the contents in the box.

Gemini on the Deerfield River Letterbox is further down the trail.
