Dearest Christopher Robbin,
It was a long, cold, New England winter.
Piglet and I have woken from our hibernation to
hear the sounds of our rumbly tummies. So we
have set out to find some honey. If you would like
to come find us we are at the Charlene Besse Park
on Riverside Ave. in Torrington CT. If you have
never been here before make sure you bring the
clues for "It's an ________!.
The easiest way to get here is by turning onto
Riverside Ave. from the intersection of
RTE. 4 (Migeon Ave.), RTE. 272 (Norfolk Rd),
and Riverside Ave. After going past the church,
playground, and Jeff Mfg. on your right will be a
parking area with a metal gate and Charlene Besse
Park sign up on the embankment.
After you walk around the gate, head up the
paved hill until it curves right. This hill was very
steep for our little legs, and Piglet wanted to get
out of the bright sun. So we turned left onto the
White trail. Once on the White trail go up the hill
until it levels out. Look for the "Stone Garden" on
left (about 20 steps in). Go to the far end of the
stone garden and look in front of you to the left
for the 8' rotten log on the ground. Piglet has
decided to rest in this log. After you find him make
sure you cover him up good so that he doesn't get
cold.
I decided to keep going on this trail to look for
some honey. Walk to where the trail splits and there
is a tree in front of you. I went right to the one tree
with a white marking. It is getting late and I can't
see where the white trail goes so I am going to
wait for you here half way down, under this 20'
rotten log in front of the white marked tree.
After you find us, we can either head back to
your car and go buy some honey, or we can walk
back down the White Trail to the paved hill and
turn left and go up the hill to find, "It's an ________!
Please come find us soon, Your Bestest Friends,
GOOD OLE POOH AND PIGLET TOO!!!!
