As I was riding down Rte. 8 this past winter. With no leaves on the trees, I could see grave stones in the woods down in Burrville. So this peeked my interest and I started looking and I found the Historic Burrville Cemetery. When I found it and saw how much work was done to it to clean it up. I certainly thought someone wanted to make sure that these people would be remembered. They even took the time to research the families that are buried here and have the
stories with each main head stone.

Directions:
From Rte. 8, take Exit 46. At end of exit turn to go down hill to light.
At light turn left onto Winsted Rd. Follow thru next light. Just after Burrville Fire Dept. Turn left onto North Rd. This is the parking lot for RBC Bearings. Stay to the left of the parking lot and park at the 3rd light pole down. Walk onto the path behind the light pole. You will pass thru 6 metal poles. Turn left to see the sign for "The Historic Burrville Cemetery Est. 1828." Make sure to stop and look at the kiosk telling all about the cemetery. Facing the cemetery head to the left to the 1' high posts that mark the "stairway to heaven".
Climb the stairs and go left to the flag pole. At flagpole stand facing RBC parking lot. Head down hill toward 11 O'clock about 30 steps to the large tree with 2 smaller ones growing off its side with roots creeping over the embankment. "Remember Me" is under those leaves at the connection of roots of the smaller trees to the big one.
