This letterbox was made and placed by the Girl Scouts of Voluntown especially for those who have a hard time walking, or need to use a wheelchair. It is easy to find, and the path is nice and flat. There are 2 sets of clues that follow, you can use either. The trail itself is about 1 mile long and is flat throughout for use with wheelchairs or strollers. If you come in early fall you may just see the blooms.

Clue Set 1:

Enter the Pachaug state forest on Rte 49 in Voluntown. Proceed to the Rhodedendron Sanctuary.
1. Enter the Rhodendron Sanctuary path.
2. Go through 3 curves.
3. See a 2-sister tree on the right. Turn to face the path from this tree. Take 12 steps. Look inside the 4-sister tree for the letterbox.

Clue Set 2:

Enter the Pachaug state forest on Rte 49 in Voluntown. Proceed to the Rhodedendron Sanctuary.
1. Enter the Rhodendron Sanctuary.
2. Take about 140 steps (remember young girls did this, so you don't need to take giant steps)
3. See a 4-sister tree on your left. Inside is the letterbox.

If you enjoyed this letterbox, please leave a little note for the girl scouts, or send me one here.

Thanks and enjoy your letterboxing adventure!
