Arivaca Wildlife

Easy short hike
Hand carved stamp

Arivaca Cienega, Spanish for 100 waters, is a wetland in the corner of the Buenos Aires Wildlife Refuge. A good area to observe creatures of the marshes.and migratory birds in season.
Box 1
From I-19 take the Arivaca exit to Arivaca Rd. from the west frontage rd. At about 3.5 miles look to the left for a pull out with a shrine. As you look at the shrine, to the left is a dead tree in front of a rock outcrop. The box is under a rock pile in back and on the left of the tree.
Box 2
Continue toward Arivaca past Gadson Coffee Co..,a good stop for a snack and local history, for about 18 miles to the Wildlife Refuge. Enter at the first gate and follow the walkway right to the end of the concrete path. Take the left path toward the wooden observation platform. Before going onto the platform is a mesquite tree. The box is in back and left under debris.
