Easy drive by
Hand carved stamp
A nice surprise in an upscale residential area. When visited it was still under development but the ball fields are finished and are top grade. Hopefully lights and bleachers are in the future. The site will be a first class recreational park.
To get to the box. From I-19 follow the directions to Madera Canyon. At about one and ¾ miles from the intersection of Continental Rd. & Whitehouse Canyon Rd. is Madera Shadows Estates with a sign for Canoa Preserve Community Park. Follow the road for about 2 miles and look to your right. You will see 2 ball fields in a hollow. Turn into the park and look to your left for lone mesquite trees about 8-10 feet off the road. The road will make a gradual S. to the crest of a hill leading down to the parking area. At this point you will be opposite the 3rd tree which is guarded by a barrel and a prickly pear cactus. (the barrel could marked for removal) Facing the tree and to your left 15 feet and 30 feet off the road is a Mesquite tree with the box hidden on its right under rocks. This could be a busy place when all the improvements are in place so be discreet.
Report your find and let us know its condition. The area is being expanded and is getting very busy. A new box was placed and re-hid in the same location.
