Lancaster, NH will celebrate its 250th Anniversary in 2014.
It is the county seat of Coos County and the gateway to the Great North Woods region of New Hampshire.
This covered bridge crosses the Israel River, named for one of two Glines brothers who were early fishers and trappers in the area. A river in Whitefield, NH is named for the other brother, John.
Clues:
From Main Street in Lancaster, NH turn east onto Mechanic Street.
Go past the Fire Station on the left and the Police Station on the right.
Continue over Covered Bridge #31
There is a pull-off on the right just past the bridge where you can park (if driving).
Standing at the bridge, look back towards Main Street.
To the left of the bridge, look under the closest large rock on the side nearest the river and you will find our TREASURE.
