My Family pulled into the main parking lot of Dave’s Falls County Park.
They walked with me along the main trail past the playground. I padded around the stairs, but my family went down them-they were counting them (to use for a clue later).
At the bottom of the stairs, Dad said to my brother and sister, “Take either trail to the left, but wait for me and mom at the bridge.” I’m so much faster than my family, maybe it’s because I have four legs and they only have two.
We crossed the bridge and took the trail to the right. One of the trails goes along the water and the other is just a little higher ground. Both trails will work and I sometimes take both.
Eventually both trails come to a small creek, (it may be dry). We all crossed over it. In front of us was a big boulder mountain. I wanted to climb up it but dad said, “Maybe later.” Instead we took the trail to the left- walking away from the falls. Mom said “After about 70 steps we should see a trail to the right.”
She was right. There was a double trunk oak tree marking the spot and we started up the hill. Mom then said “Take this about 80 steps to the top of the hill and wait for us.”
Dad said we were getting close and told us to take the trail to the left (at the top of the hill) about 80 steps. “Look for the 4 trunk maple tree on the right side of the trail next to a large towering pine and stop there.” he said
The box they talked about was at 320° hidden in the boulder crack with 2-3 large rocks covering it. Walk about the same number of step as the stairs you walked down and you should be there.
