For Jacob's birthday his family decided to plant a couple of letterboxes along this trail way and they invited the Four K's along to join in the fun! The West Bridgewater Rail Trail has a parking area located on Main Street in West Bridgewater across the street from Turner Steel. This is where your search begins.

Box #1--The Crab: Enter the rail trail past the yellow gate and follow for awhile. This is a wooded area but soon on the left you will see the trees begin to thin out and you will see that there is a meadow beyond the trees on the left. Just as you approach this, there will be a big pine tree on your left and an old stone tunnel that goes under the trail here. Go down off of the trail to the tunnel. Looking back up to trail, turn to your right. You will see a cluster of rocks. Approximately 11 paces towards this rock cluster, you will notice a vertical standing rock. The crabs home is hidden in here.

Box #2--The Dragonfly: Return up to the main trail that you were on and continue going down the path. Stay on this main trail, keeping to the left for awhile. You will come across a wooden bridge on your left--pass this and keep going to a four way intersection in the path. At this intersection you want to take a right. Stay on this path, keeping to the left as it turns and watch out for tree roots! Follow this to the end. Before you enter the field, you will see a larger, fallen tree on the right. The Dragonfly is hidden at the base of this tree in a small crevice in the split trunk.

Please make sure to rehide boxes well and be sure that containers are closed tightly. Thank you!

Retrace your steps to return to the parking area. Hope you enjoyed your hike down the rail trail!
