This box will be moved to different locations around the falls because the swing bridge over Big Tree Creek will be opened and closed at certain times of the year. The bridge will be over the falls in spring and summer and swung open to the side in the fall and winter.
Please check out the train fares and schedules for this historic Chelatchie Prairie Railroad Train by visiting www.BYCX.com. There are many excursions to take advantage of such as a reenacted train robbery, ride to a Tree Farm to cut down your own Christmas tree, Headless Horseman excursion near Halloween and a slow ride to Moulton Falls. Pack a lunch to bring on the train and make a day of it! There are wonderful historian volunteers on the train who will tell you the entire history of the railroad that transported lumber from Yacolt into Vancouver.

Chelatchie Prairie Railroad Letterbox:

Clues to find the box when the swing bridge is swung over the falls in the spring and summer months:

From the turnout at the intersection:
Walk through the picnic area, descend the stone steps and cross the swing bridge over the falls to the stone stairway on the other side. Ascend the steps to the trail above. Take a left on the rocky trail till you see a wagon wheel with a tree growing through the middle of it on your left. A little farther you will pass some picnic tables. Just beyond the last table is a tall stump on the right that hides the letterbox.

From the Chelatchie Prairie Train ride:
Take the trail down to the falls. At the stone stairway take a right on the rocky trail till you see a wagon wheel with a tree growing through the middle of it on your left.
A little farther you will pass some picnic tables. Just beyond the last table is a tall stump on the right that hides the letterbox.

Clues to find the box when the swing bridge is swung to the side of the falls in the fall and winter months:

From the turnout at the intersection only:
Head west along the road to the picnic area on the right. Walk towards the stone steps straight ahead. Step down one step and turn 0 degrees north. Take 10 paces in that direction to find the box nestled behind some sticks in the wall.
