This letterbox is located on the property of the Great Valley Nature Center. The Nature Center is open Monday through Saturday 9am to 5pm. Maps of the grounds are available at the office and may be helpful for first time visitors. For more information on the Great Valley Nature Center visit gvnc.org

It’s the Nature of Things. . .

Box #1

Begin at the entrance sign which shows the property’s lovely crest,
and walk towards (not across!) the bridge to begin your quest.
Take a right at the fork,
and give the butterfly garden an appreciative look.
Cross 1 boardwalk then another on your left.
Turn at the post with six nails.
Do you see a good spot to watch birds swoop and sail?
The view from the top is really quite neat,
but your treasure? Well, that’s a bit more concrete. . .

Box #2

Your first box is found, so proceed downstream,
and continue along the path and enjoy the water scenes.
Cross two boardwalks, then tread the chips of wood,
following their path left would be ideal and good.
You’ll come to a fork but no worries!
Go left and cross the bridge over the stream.
From the bridge, go forward and follow the tree line,
to the wetland’s boardwalk you must now make a bee line.
Our pond resident’s calls will fill the air.
Now take the path right, but do be aware,
that your treasure is not amongst the springhouse’s bricks,
but somewhere nearby, in a suspicious pile of sticks!

Box #3

The second box is yours, but more abound,
may we suggest moving to higher ground?
Walk the path through the woods and go up the stairs.
Ascend the hill and see the old farmhouse up there.
Pass the barn on your right
and proceed up the driveway that’s narrow and tight.
You’re quite near your loot!
It’s concealed in a place where a raptor could roost!

Box #4

By now I suppose you think you’re a pro,
but there is still one more box to go.
From your current spot, go take a look at our birds,
then take the wooden stairs down past the tables towards the woods.
Enter the pine forest at the 2 trees with three trunks.
Scout around amongst the needles and stumps.
Keep near the fence, following the forest’s slant higher,
and find your final box, if you aren’t too terribly tire’d. . .

Please be discrete as the Nature Center can be a very popular place.

Please re-hide the boxes carefully!
