Find your way to Andover Veterans Monument Park heading east on Route 6 in Andover. Take a right onto 316 just before the park. Turn left onto Monument Lane and follow the signs for parking for the Rails to Trails. Park here and head towards the beautiful covered bridge where you can overlook the park. Cross the bridge and when the wooden railing ends, turn right onto a small path heading down the embankment. Use extreme caution as this could become a slippery place in winter.
Don't go too far, and stop when the cement foundation ends. Between the cement and the bridge frame is a perfect gap.Reach in, down and to the left under the first stack of 14 boards that make up part of the main horizontal support for this tribute to our veterans.
