Great family hike on a new Madison Land Conservation Trust property; about 1/3 mile each way - less than an hour round trip.
From Route 80 in North Madison, turn north on Summer Hill Road. About 1/8 mile, on right, you will find the parking area.
This letterbox commemorates my encounter with a river otter, crossing the road nearby!
After parking, follow the blue hiker-markers through a lovely wooded area, crossing walls and an old woods road When you come to a rocky ledge on the left (you will know it when you see it), check under the first large overhang, behind a branch and bark for the otter!
