As an artist, I spend a lot of time strolling through Descanso Gardens, and it has been a long time since any new boxes have been planted in the area, so here is a new adventure.
When you enter the gardens, make your way to the place where you might have tea. Meditate on this...
From there, take the paved path leading S.E. until you come to an unpaved path which leads through the Oak Forest and the Camellias. Make your way through the forest and keep walking and gaining elevation until you come to a flight of stairs.
At the top of the stairs, look for the vertical garden. As any good knight in armor knows, it's important to view your kingdom from a high place, so make your way up to the turtle's back landing by the green roof garden.
Have a seat and enjoy the view on the stone bench.
The box can be found behind the bench under a flat-ish rock.
This is a planter's pouch. For more information on how to construct your own planter's pouch, see the following link:

This box is not suitable for strollers, but, is kid-friendly. The stamp has much fine detail, so please exercise caution when stamping.
Hike length: 1-2 miles
