The Lil Things – Your Lucky Day
A leprechaun (Irish: leipreachán) is a type of fairy in Irish folklore, usually taking the form of an old man, clad in a green coat, who enjoys partaking in mischief. Like other fairy creatures, leprechauns have been linked to the Tuatha Dé Danann of Irish mythology. The Leprechauns spend all their time busily making shoes, and store away all their coins in a hidden pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. If ever captured by a human, the Leprechaun has the magical power to grant three wishes in exchange for their release.
The earliest known reference to the leprechaun appears in the medieval tale known as the Echtra Fergus mac Léti (Adventure of Fergus son of Léti). The text contains an episode in which Fergus mac Léti, King of Ulster, falls asleep on the beach and wakes to find himself being dragged into the sea by three lúchorpáin. He captures his abductors, who grant him three wishes in exchange for release.
Take US 190 to Harker Heights, take the FM 2410 (Knights Way) exit and take 2410 East for 3 miles. Turn left into Harker Heights Community Park. Take an immediate left up the hill.
TO THE BOX:
Park in the parking area and look for a place where little Leprechauns play. As you park you will see numbered posts, look for the Lucky #14. Follow the gravel path next to the 14. It will take you up the hill. When you see the word “meter” you will go off the gravel path and up the hill. Once you reach the top of the hill you will see a gnarly stump at the edge of the forest. Under this stump you will find your pot of gold hidden under some rocks. Please return the box back to its original place and hide well.
