The newest round of the box of the month is under way...

It is still the same idea- a new box every month for the year, from a different carver around the United States. The box will be in place from ~ the 1st through the ~25th each month-depending on weather, the mail etc. The final box (my own) will be permanently placed at the final location.

This year I am doing it a little differently. You will not be going to the same location each month for the new box, but rather the same trail and starting from different locations. The trail will be the Airline Trail. It runs through Lebanon and has many road crossings. Each month I will start you from a new crossing and head to a different spot on the trail.

So, for the twelve, and final, letterbox in this series, make your way to the Airline Trail crossing on Leonard Bridge Road. After parking in the designated area, carefully cross the road and go around the gate.

Pass lucky number 13...

Pass a wide side trail on your right, but do not take it.

Walk along with a body of water off to your left. It gets mighty breezy and cold in this spot during the Winter.

Continue on and pass where that side trail rejoins the main trail on the right.

Stop here.

From here continue ~30 steps and stop.

You should see a two sister tree about halfway up the hill on your right. There is a large rock behind it with lichen and ferns growing on it.

Carefully traverse the rocks to this tree and look behind it to find the final, my own, and permanent box in this series. Snuffy loves visitors and even has a special gift for the first finder.

Please be sure to hide the box well and naturalize the area when you are done. This will help to ensure that it will be there for the next finder to discover.

Thanks,
Flutterby
