Clara Driscoll was a Texas-born businesswoman, philanthropist, and historic preservationist who provided the money to preserve the Alamo. In 1903, Adina Emilia De Zavala enlisted Clara Driscoll to join the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and chair the De Zavala fund raising committee to negotiate the purchase of the long barracks that was owned by wholesale grocers Charles Hugo and Gustav Schmeltzer. The asking price was $75,000, most of which came out of Clara Driscoll's bank account, earning her the moniker "Savior of the Alamo". She died in 1945 and was buried in the Alamo Masonic Cemetery.

From I10 go west on E. Commerce Street for about 3 miles to just before Pine Street and turn right into Alamo Masonic Cemetery. Park immediately on left by historic marker in front of Clara Driscoll mausoleum.

Walk behind right side of mausoleum about 35 steps to multi-trunk tree behind A. B. Kerr grave. Minibox is within trunks under rocks and leaves.
