A geocaching letterbox hybrid. Park at N 33° 56.819 W 111° 26.264, which is a pulloff on the southbound portion of highway 87 halfway up slate creek canyon (right before the road curves from westbound to southbound). There is a gate: go through it and find the road. Take the west portion of the road up about 100 feet, then climb up the hill to the top. You are looking for a large group of slate rocks. Note that this is a different (and easier) route than the one listed on the geocaching website, which is a reward for letterboxers. The total distance in this direction is about 0.5 miles from park to letterbox. If you would like GPS coordinates to the final, email me.
