Returned Feb. 2004 and realized there are 2 rest areas and think Road Trip 2003 must be on the northern rest area. We attempted to find it again, but weren't successful in the snow. =-)
Difficulty: Easy & short walk.
Directions: About 19 miles east of Pendleton stop at the Deadman's Pass Rest Area (southern side). We attempted to find Road Trip 2003, but couldn't so instead we placed this one.
Clues:
C*lick off your seat belt, and
L*earn about the Oregon Trail.
A*ROUND the rest area,
S*earch southeast.
S*ee the small forest.
I*nside a path.
C*lose to the fence,
P*erhaps two trees share a base.
O*n their west side, and hiding
O*nly under pine needles.
H*ide the bear well when done.
