This area was the home of Mound Builders of Caddoan origin who lived in the region approximately A.D. 800. The 93.8-acre site west of Alto opened to the public in June 1982. There is a .7-mile interpretive trail that passes two of the mounds. There is a museum under construction.

From the museum walk towards the tallest mound. This is the burial mound. Stop and read the information on the board. Please stay off the mound! Continue on the path toward a bench with a shade covering. Sit and enjoy the area. When there are no muggles around look to your left at the large multi-trunked tree. The box is amongst the trunks about a foot off the ground. It is on the backside farthest from the bench. It is a flat pouch. In is laying on one rock with another rock and some wood on top. Please replace as found.
