This is an unconventional letterbox. It is hidden in plain sight and made to look similar to its surroundings. I am not sure if this method of hiding will work out or not so any feedback is greatly appreciated! The best way to stamp this carve is with markers. Pink, brown and green to be exact. We use regular Crayola (not washable) markers and they work fantastic! I wanted to get this box out earlier this spring, in time for peak bloom of the cherry blossom trees but unfortunately I didn’t. Its still a great area! The ideal time to find this box is in April when the cherry blossoms are in peak bloom. They are beautiful, however this park is peaceful and lovely any time of the year. Find Wooster Square in New Haven. Park anywhere along the square, we will be starting at the Christopher Columbus Statue. Facing the Statue site 20 degrees, begin to walk in this direction through the park. You will be walking towards the northeast corner of the park. You will come upon the only electrical box in the park, close to the northeast corner of the square. Hint: The electrical box is pretty rusty and Danville Grange Junc. 23..youll understand this when you find the box : ) The letterbox is hidden in plain sight in an unconventional way. PLEASE be stealthy as this park is very busy. I pretended to hold my paper against it and write, like I needed a hard surface. Once you get it you can stroll over to a bench to do your stamping. You may have to pry a little to open the box, we used rubber to seal out moisture. Since this is a new way to us of hiding a box I am not sure how it will work out. PLEASE make sure you close the lid very tight and well so it remains as weatherproof as possible and the top doesn’t come off. Please place back in the same position on the electrical box. Thanks!
