TIMPANOGOS STORYTELLING

The largest storytelling festival in the west-the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival-held every year in Orem, Utah at the close of August. Some of the nation’s best known storytellers unite with other teller, both young and old, for two all-day celebrations of music, merriment, but mostly stories.

The bulk of the summer festival is held in the Mount Timpanogos Park, a 44-acre (180,000 m) park designed in part to accommodate the needs of the festival. The park is approximately one (1) mile up Provo Canyon, and sits at the foot of Mount Timpanogos.

DIRECTIONS: Take the Orem 800 North exit (#272) from I-15, Head east. It will eventually split: stay to the left and continue east up the canyon for approximately 1mile.
You must be in the left lane. Look for a brown sign on the right (Mt. Timpanogos Park with an arrow pointing left).
Turn left at the next road. Continue to the parking lot.
Now that you have arrived at the Mount Timpanogos Park walk through the Arch into the storytelling park.
Keep walking west with the large building to you right until you come to the restrooms.
Continue walking west past the three benches to the Canyon Vista Pavilion. Walk through the pavilion to the three wooden benches.
Turn right and walk north pass three trees and stop at the fourth tree.
The letterbox is hanging on inside next to the trunk.
This is a high traffic area with hikers, people walking, picnickers, children playing and bikers. Please use stealth when retrieving the letterbox and hide well when finished.

It is not a good time to look for this letterbox during the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival.
