This letterbox is hidden at my dad’s shop. He makes furniture in the old Easthampton fire station. The directions below will take you to two of the firehouse-related projects at his shop, before you go to the letterbox itself.
Please be respectful of the property and do not go into the gardens or disturb anything.
If you are in a car, there is plenty of public parking nearby.
From the center of Easthampton, where Route 10 meets Route 141, travel south on Union Street for approximately 0.2 miles.
Your destination is 84 Union Street, the old Easthampton fire station.
In the front of the building, there is a terrace with garden, surrounded by a wrought iron fence.
To the right of the terrace is the front door. Look through the window at the floor in the entryway. From outside the building, you can see a mosaic that my dad and I made.
Continue south on Union Street and turn right on Railroad Street.
Take the next right onto Center Street.
Turn into the parking lot for the old fire station. In the garden, near the building, you will see a topiary.
Retrace your steps out of the parking lot and back onto Railroad Street.
On Railroad Street, halfway between Center Street and Union Street, turn left into the small driveway that used to be used by emergency vehicles. The letterbox is located at the end of the driveway, near the garage door.
The letterbox contains a stamp, a stamp pad, and a log book.
