This letterbox is part of the GO and Experiment! program. It will be available from June 1, 2014 - August 17, 2014. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.

Through the GO and Experiment! program, you will be searching for "scientific terms" – wooden posts with engraved plates on them – instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression from the engraved plate into your GO and Experiment! rubbing page, available at any York County library.

The letterbox is located at Richard M. Nixon County Park. GO York level of difficulty = Hard

 Park in the lower parking lot and walk toward the nature center.
 Before reaching the nature center, walk through the grass below the building, keeping the center on your right.
 Find and walk to a wooden bridge. Cross the bridge and turn right on the trail.
 At the first intersection, make a left on Old Field Trail.
 Continue uphill on this trail. In a short way, you will notice wooden boards in the trail.
 Eventually, the trail will become less step and you will walk along a power line for a short distance. Stop and rest at the wood bench if needed.
 Continue walking on the trail until you reach the “Y” in it. Keep to the left.
 The trail should be going through brush on both sides before re-entering the woods and continuing down a hill.
 When the trail flattens out in the woods, start searching for the post on the right side of the trail.
 To return to your vehicle, continue on the trail after finding the post.
 At the next intersection, make a left but do not cross the wooden bridge. Stay on the trail until you reach the next wooden bridge.
 Cross this bridge and turn left on the trail.
 Continue on this trail until you reach the nature center and the parking lot.
