This letterbox is part of the GO and Experiment! program. It will be available from June 1, 2014 - August 17, 2014. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.

Through the GO and Experiment! program, you will be searching for "scientific terms" – wooden posts with engraved plates on them – instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression from the engraved plate into your GO and Experiment! rubbing page, available at any York County library.

The letterbox is located at Veterans Memorial Park (York City) GO York level of difficulty = Easy

 Locate and park near the batting cages. Walk over and stand in front of them.
 In what cage is a baseball thrown at 40 mph? ______
 Turn right and walk between the batting cages (on your left) and the pavilion on your right) toward the back of the miniature golf course.
 Turn right and walk behind the miniature golf course. The baseball field should be on your left.
 You should arrive at a paved road. Before crossing it, count the number of lights on the baseball field light post almost directly in front of you. _______
 Carefully cross the road and walk through the field of ten small trees. Don’t walk through the cement drainage area, especially if water is in it.
 You should notice a marker for Field #3 in the corner of the baseball field nearby. Walk to this corner, turn left and continue on the gravel/dirt path in between the fields.
 Ahead you should see another field with the same number as the batting cage above. Walk toward that field.
 On your right, you will notice evergreen trees outlining the outside of the fence. Starting with the small tree, count to the ___th tree (# of lights on the light post above). The post you are searching for should be nearby.
 To return to your vehicle, retrace your steps.
