This letterbox is part of the GO and Experiment! program. It will be available from June 1, 2014 - August 17, 2014. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.
Through the GO and Experiment! program, you will be searching for "scientific terms" – wooden posts with engraved plates on them – instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression from the engraved plate into your GO and Experiment! rubbing page, available at any York County library.
The letterbox is located at Heidelberg Township Community Park. GO York level of difficulty = Moderate
Park in the gravel parking lot up by the playground.
Walk back down the gravel parking lot to the basketball court.
Walk across the wood bridge and make a left onto the paved path before the basketball court.
Follow the paved path up the hill.
At the top of the hill follow the trail to the right. Stop and check out the view as you head out the trail.
When you get to a blue bench by two trees there you will find the rubbing post.
Continue following the trail until it loops around to the parking lot.
