This box is planted for Mark Pepe Mr. Letterboxing Cool himself, guru of Ct's northwest letterboxers. It's listed in Kensington (his hometown) instead of Berlin, this park has other boxes, some listed in Berlin, be sure to look them up.

Timberlin Park is on Rt. 364 in Berlin using the same entrance as the golf course. Pass all the golfing buildings and park near the Timberlin Park sign. You have to park here in the winter because the gate is closed from Dec. 1st till April 1st. but this is also the closest parking for this box.

Very short walk (maybe 15 min. one way) not too hilly but unsuitable for strollers.

Walk along the paved road into the park and look for the Amelia Green Trail on the right. It's mostly blazed red and follows along the water for awhile.
When you reach the top of a hill as the trail moves away from the main body of water, watch for a red blazed trail on the right and take it downhill along the edge of the inlet water. This trail isn't blazed well so keep an eye open for blazes. After coming to a pile of cut trees to the right of the trail you'll see a new bridge built by our GREAT Eagle Scouts. Turn left up the hill and just after it levels out look for an 8 ft. (skinny) stump (this stump is gone except for a few inches in the middle of the trail) with the rest of the tree on the ground. This is to the right of the trail and the broken section points towards the inlet. Follow the broken section downhill to where it broke again and Mr. Cool is lurking there. On the way back I found another 8 ft. stump that might confuse you (I think this is now a pile of cut trees) so you want the second one which has an orange blaze on it and much fungus on the laying down part.

Rehide carefully, this park is busy on a good day.
