Mill Hill Letterbox Clues 2014
Your journey begins in the Mill Hill Burying Ground.
The third oldest such spot in this fair town.
Seek out the crooked, old stone of mine,
Which tells you I died in 1779.
It was in this year, Norwalk's most dire
General Tryon came and set the town afire.
Any luck yet? Do you see me?
I'll give you a hint...my small head pops out, stuck in a tree.
Every Hallows Eve, when I open my eyes,
I see seven headstones, all different sized.
Some short, some tall, some round, some square,
They're all dead like me, they don't mind if I stare.
Then when I turn around, who do I see?
Why it's Mr. Lockwood, who left earth 26 years before me.
Next to him, so pretty, so lovely, his wife,
Who passed in the 89th year of her life.
But Mr. Lockwood is staring, not at his wife nor me
Instead at the treasure you seek at the base of the tree.
Hike length: 0.1 miles
