Aspen Mountain, often called Ajax by locals, looms above the town of Aspen, providing great skiing in winter and hiking in summer. The Ajax trail is one such hike, starting in Koch Park and crossing the front side of Ajax Mountain. Enjoy hiking through Aspen trees as you look for this leaf.

Directions:
From W. Main Street go south on S. Garmisch Street 3 blocks to Koch Park on right. Park near intersection with E. Durant Ave.

Clues:
Walk west on the gravel Midland Trail past volleyball courts to the dirt Ajax Trail on left. Go up it 275 steps to several big rocks on right side of trail with view of brown building in town ahead of you. Continue 90 steps to top of a rise in the trail before it goes down and bends right. Go left 5 steps off trail to large rock between 2 small live trees and 1 dead one. Letterbox is under back side of rock next to dead tree under smaller rocks.
