Go to the Arnold Arboretum Visitor Center at 125 Arborway.
•
Follow Meadow Road toward the ponds.
•
After passing the cork trees on the right, start following the sidewalk that runs parallel to Meadow Road.
•
When the sidewalk forks, there will be a Kentucky coffee tree in front of you. If you want to see the pods you have to look high up in the tree.
•
Continue on the sidewalk, staying to the left of the tree and parallel the road.
•
When the sidewalks rejoin, turn right and walk 14 paces (into the grass) to another Kentucky coffee tree.
•
Turn left and walk 30 steps to a large honeylocust with lots of thorns. BE CAREFUL!
•
Make a slight right and walk 10 steps to a honeylocust with lots of low hanging fruit.
•
Continue ahead18 more steps to the honeylocust accession #22514*A. The letterbox is hidden at the base of this tree. Read the directions inside and leave everything just as you found it.
