This letterbox is placed in memory of our Uncle David Walker who passed away in 2011. Dave was a fun loving, generous man who lived in LA but loved Jay Vermont! I don't think you will be able to find this in the winter so consider this a summer box. Take the tram (or climb if you like) to the summit. Come out of the Tram Haus and walk out toward the trail signs. You will see a set of stairs on your left up to the rocky summit. Climb these stairs and scramble up the rocks until you reach the top. When you get to the top there are two memorial benches within 30 yards of eachother. Look for the memorial bench for James "Buddy" Loux. This bench is further away from the Tram Haus heading Southeast. When you sit in this bench take a minute to remember Jay Peak legend Buddy Loux. Then look approximately 135 degrees Southeast (pretty much straight ahead from where you are.). There are two sets of rocks with scrub brush before the cliff (50-60 ft away.) L99 Dave in Jay Peak is nestled in the second scrub brush/Rock gathering at 44* 55' 37" N and 73* 31' 31" W. If you fall off the cliff, you've gone too far!! Be careful! There is a book, stamp pad, stamp and a couple pens in the coffee can. We look forward to seeing your stamp and where you are from. Please take care to rezip all the baggies and seal the coffee can. Take a look around and admire the view and think of Dave! Thank you!!!
