To find Oneloa "Ironwoods" beach: take honoapiilani hwy toward Kapalua. Turn left on office road. (Will pass Kapalua general store if going the right way). At end of road, turn left onto Lower Honoapiilani road. Take a right onto Ironwood Lane. Park at public beach access parking lot. Head down the stairs toward beach.

At bottom of walkway, turn left onto boardwalk and enjoy the view as you walk down to the end. Boardwalk turns to dirt trail.

Box #1: Love of the Sea

Continue on trail. You will pass a drain on the left. Around the next curve, the bushes on your right end and you can walk down into the rocks. Looking to the water you will see a big tuft of bush. This is where you will find box number one.

Box #2: Sea Urchin

Get back onto the trail and continue along. You will pass a brown fence on your right, the scenery begins to resemble a moonscape. You also begin seeing signs warning of "native ground nesting seabirds" with pictures of the wedge tailed shearwater. Be careful to stay on the trail to void hurting the baby birds! Keep going until you reach an intersection. You can read about the seabirds "Ua 'u Kani" and the Kapalua coastal trail. In the bushes near the bird information you will find the second box.

Box #3: Sun on the cliffs

At the intersection you should follow the right trail heading toward the ocean (gravel path). As you walk along the path, watch for bird nests in holes along the trail (careful!!! Don't walk off the path!). You will find stakes in the ground lining the right side of the trail...there is a bush following those stakes...you will find the third box in the Next bush after that. Enjoy your walk! Take only pictures, leave only footprints.
