Fox Lake WELCOMES You!

To begin, you must travel Hwy 33 West into this “Foxy” first settlement of Dodge County, established in 1838 as a city. Throughout your journey, keep the towering fox tail on your left or it would be a pity.

Once you’ve gone past a place where you can drive-in to dine, continue on to the building with windows that ascend in size along the roofline. Don’t pause to read, but instead stop and count… for the number of pebble stone benches at this “fairytale” place will tell you the approximate number of blocks you still need to pace.

As you continue West, a yellow rose to the right and an anchor hanging from above will be along the path you trudge. But, do take care to look left and look right before you enter “College.”

INTERESTING FACT: Downer College was a women's college in Fox Lake, Wisconsin, chartered in 1855 and opening in September, 1856. – source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Downer_College | If you have a SMART Phone with a QR Code reader, plan to scan the QR code inside this "welcoming" letterbox to learn more about this Wisconsin Female College once located in Fox Lake, Wisconsin and Jason Downer, a Justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

Now, move beyond the four “State-ly” pillars, but slow your pace. You are nearing a “Welcoming” place, at which a fox, an eagle, and the FARMER all face. Once you’ve found “home, sweet home,” you’ll travel fifteen bricks toward the setting sun. Then, “plant” your feet next to “the box that holds life” and discover the hidden fun.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Please be discreet, and put your “stamp of approval” on what you’ve found while sitting another bench down. To put it another way, kindly discover what’s inside as you “rest your feet” just down the street in front of our neighbor who cares for visitors of all “styles” in this town.

AND, finally... Welcome to Fox Lake!
