BOXES ARE RETIRED AND HAVE BEEN REMOVED

These letterboxes are located on a new set of trails located off of Route 10 in the South end of Cheshire near the Hamden border. From Route 10, take Old Lane Road for 0.6 miles until you reach the top of the hill. You will see a telephone pole on your left marked with a red blaze. The trails must be followed carefully as there are several unmarked trails that lead off of the main trail. Also, the trails can be VERY muddy in spots so be aware and dress appropriately.

From the telephone pole, follow the red trail until you reach the first red double blazed tree. From this tree, continue down the red trail for 16 steps, then take a compass reading of 90 degrees. Take 24 steps in this direction until you reach a two sister tree. The Bumblebee Letterbox is located at the base of this tree. Stamp in, rehide carefully and continue on the red trail.

Cross the stream and follow the red trail until you come to a large boulder on your left. Go down a small hill and turn right onto the blue trail. From the first blue double blazed tree, take a compass reading of 140 degrees. Take 14 steps in this direction towards a large boulder. The Ladybug Letterbox is located at the base of the larger tree in front of the boulder. Stamp in, rehide carefully and continue on the blue trail.

Follow the blue trail until it connects back with the red trail. Turn right and follow the red trail. You will cross a small stream and then a larger stream. Look for the yellow trail on your left. Follow the yellow trail for some time until you come to a tree with a yellow arrow on it. From this tree, take a compass reading of 210 degrees. Walk in this direction until you reach an opening in the stone wall. Go through the opening and take a compass reading of 290 degrees. Take 40 steps in this direction keeping the stone wall on your right. The Butterfly Letterbox is located at the base of the largest rock. Stamp in, rehide carefully and return to the yellow trail.

Follow the yellow trail until you reconnect with the red trail. Turn right on the red trail and follow it back to where you began.
