Planted by Queen B and daughter Kiakahi.
More great stamps carved by Kiakahi.

Rated: Easy - with one good hill, about 2 miles round trip

This series of boxes is in honor of the song "Corey's Coming" by
Harry Chapin. It is about an old man working in a nearly abandoned railroad yard who shares his life's stories with a young man. The young man loves all of John Joseph's stories, but loves the one about Corey the best. This story involves a mysterious woman who never seems to age.

Directions:

Take Village Hill Road off Rt. 289 near. Follow Village Hill Road for 1.2 miles. Right at the bottom of the hill, you will see a pull-off on the right. Park here.

This is where the old Airline Railroad crosses the road.

Directions to The Train Depot:

Follow the trail in a south-westerly direction. Watch where you step as there are still some of the old railroad ties sticking up here and there. You will pass over a newly constructed wooden bridge. Keep going and see some yellow and white poles on both sides of the trail. As you pass under the powerlines, if you are quiet, you might be able to hear the sizzling of current zipping through the lines. A little farther on you will see 8 family members on the right waiting for the train. In the middle of their huddle is The Train Depot.

Directions to Corey:

Return the way you came and take the path to the left following the powerlines. At the top of the hill, you will come to an intersection. Take this left path. Before you enter the open field, see John Joseph and his young friend on the left. Circle around the pair and find John Joseph's true love low in the wall.

Directions to The Engine:

Return to the Airline Trail, turn left, and head back toward your car. Cross the street and follow the trail going in a north-easterly direction. If you would like to bring a lunch, there will be a picnic table very soon on the left. Keep going until you come to a bridge. This bridge was built as an Eagle Scout project. Do not cross the bridge. Instead, look under it on the left side and you will find The Engine.

As always, please rehide boxes well. Don't forget to bring the clues to "The Castle of Scovell" with you. It is very close by.

Good luck and happy hunting!

I would like to thank Burning Feet for taking over this series.
