DIRECTIONS:
From Beacon Falls (junction of CT 42 and North Main Street), drive east on CT 42 (Bethany Road) for 1.1 miles. At the point where 42 swerves to the left, continue straight onto Blackberry Road, heading east another 1.6 miles. When you come to Pole Hill Road on the right, pull over at the corner and park.
CLUES:
(These falls are at the very best when they are frozen.) At the corner, follow the trail into the woods. Very soon you will come upon the cellar foundation of the A.T.Hotchkiss homestead on the right. Continue and you will come upon a stone wall. Follow the wall until it breaks for the trail path to descending to the foot of the falls. TAKE THIS PATH LATER. Continue to follow the wall until you come upon the jumble of boulders to the right of the falls. Look up to your right to see a nubbly-knobbly tree perched on a boulder. Beneath the boulder in a shallow cave closed by a flat rock you will find the Hopp brook Waterfalls Letterbox. Stamp in then hide the box completely.
