Victor and Joseph Stanzel, natives of Schulenburg, pioneered and manufactured one of the most respected and diverse lines of model aircraft products, from the True Scale Ornamental Models to the Stanzel Flying Toys. As pioneers of control line systems, they developed, patented and manufactured the historic 1939 Tiger Shark and the "G" Line Flying system that transformed the model airplane world. I still remember my first gas-powered airplane that flew with attached wire and made you spin around with the plane until you were too dizzy to see straight, and it was great! Even though the company no longer exists, you can see some of these unique planes at the Stanzel Model Aircraft Museum in Schulenberg, then find this letterbox at nearby Schulenberg City Cemetery.

Directions:
From I10 go south on Hwy 77 for 1.2 mile to Baumgarten St and the Stanzel Model Aircraft Museum on the left. For the letterbox, go back north on Hwy 77 for 0.3 mile to Hwy 90 and turn left. Go about 1 mile and turn right on Schulz Ave for 0.2 mile to Eilers St. Turn right then left on Russek St for about 100 yards, then left into City Cemetery. Drive through the arch about 100 yards and park by 2 historic markers on the right.

Clues:
Walk back down the road 30 steps and go left between stone borders for 50 steps to multi-trunk cedar tree at end of the row on the right. Letterbox is within trunks under rocks and needles.
