Distance to Letterbox: 25 yards
Difficulty: Easy
Here is the story about the box form the Historical Marker: Veteran of the Texas War for Independence 1835-1836 Velasco, Gonzales, Bexar and Coleto.
Directions:
From Hwy 20 and FM 812 intersection in Red Rocks, go west on FM 812 about 1 mile and turn LEFT at sign for "OLD Red Rocks Cemetery" and go down to cemetery on the right side of road and park by entry gate.
To the Letterbox:
Enter walk in gate and go to right of the first gated stones, then right past the 2nd gated stones, and stop at the middle gated stones for grave of Thomas. Now, with back to him, go right around the gated area and follow it around to front. Find stone for "Joseph Hemphill". Box is behind his stone in middle of the crepe myrtle tree under sticks.
