BOXES ARE NO LONGER THERE, SORRY.
“Cing” Crawdad
These boxes are on a beautiful, easy trail in east Garland Park. There are 2 boxes to find. 2 Handmade stamps in each.
Box 1: Access Trail on the east end of Garzas Road. Park on left of road right before driveway to the Trail and Saddle club. Take the trail to immediate right of mail box; you are now in Garland Ranch.
Go straight; you will intersect with a wider trail keep going east. Pass bench on the right. When you pass a second bench stay left on River trail. Enjoy the view of the river and exit the second Horse guard on the trail. Almost immediately you will see 3 directions you can go. Choose the left and go down the slope to the river, carefully, the bank is steep. There is a large log with cables in it, look left, you need to go along the bank of river to find box. The box is hanging in a tree in a plastic bag. There are wild berry bushes, but no poison oak at the base of trees where the box is hanging. Please put back as you found it so it is not plainly visible.
Box 2: Return to the main trail by ascending the hill. Continue east or left. Walk past the LL Field Trail sign, stay right. You will come to an area of many sycamore trees. Look for a trail marker for River Trail and Laureles Trail, keep going east. Go left at the triangle of trails. You are now going west on a dirt path. You will enter a meadow area; on right by the river will be a foot bridge. Go to the bridge; don’t cross, look for asphalt wedge with river boulders in it. It points the way. Box is in a tree stump between branches, again in a plastic bag, hanging. There is no poison oak only wild berry bushes at the base of trees. Please place box back in crook of tree so it isn’t visible.
Please track these boxes on 3-Sgirls@letterboxing .org if they are missing or vandalized.
To return to the start of trail another way you can go right when you go back to the meadow after leaving the river area. Walk west and go up a short incline where you will meet the River Trail again. Turn right and walk back to the start.
