Reach the Beach Swann Park Letterbox Series

Enjoy a walk in and around Swann Park.
Bring some bread to feed the fish, turtles, geese and ducks.
This hunt starts and ends at the playground.

Box #1
1. Find something on the playground that is chained to a tree and this is the starting point.
2. Walk to the green bench that sits against the long fence.
3. Continue walking along the fence towards the woods until the fence ends.
4. Look for a straight row of nine trees.
5. Go to the very tall tree trunk with no branches.
6. Turn to face the baby swings and look for a dirt path to the left. Follow it!
7. Walk left. Find a flat, open, grassy area and walk into it.
8. Do you see a tree that’s growing sideways? Go stand under it!
9. Investigate at the base of its trunk

Box #2
1. With your back to the sideways tree, look for a path leading into the
woods slightly to the left. A small red maple marks the spot.
2. Follow the path until you find a twisty tree on the right that has grown
into a square! What evidence can you find that people have been here?
3. Keep going along the path until you come to a large tree that is
leaning over the path.
4. From the large tree, walk forward 25 counted paces.
5. Look left for a path with many mounds of dirt, head down the path.
6. Continue over the mounds, stopping at the 2nd-to-last one.
7. Look to your right. If you see a tree smiling at you, you are on the
right path!
8. Keep going for a count of 25 paces.
9. On your left, you should see three skinny pine trees right in a row. Look
way up to see the needles and pine cones.
10. Just past these pine trees, turn left onto a new path.
11. As the path takes a sharp dip down, look off to your right.
12. A tree with a big hollow at the bottom holds your prize!
