Terrain: Lots of mud and not much grass and there are a few hills
Clues: Moderate
Time to find: 15-20 min.
Clues:
Susannah and I liked to play pretend with our two dolls. I had an explorer doll and Susannah had a scout doll. Sometimes we would go on pretend treasure hunts that our friends created. Today we did one my friend Timothy created.
(Continues from Mt. Pisgah State Park Box #1 Toy Chest)
Leaving our hidden toy chest, we went back to the trail and followed it at 270*. Our dog, Socrates, would have been really sad to play amongst the trees that we were passing. Susannah and I went by five trees with yellow marks on them. After a while the trail started to get grassier and one more yellow marked tree.
Up ahead the mist and fog rose from the hillside such that it looked like a steam engine hidden in the trees. When we approached the "steamy" trail we turned 160*.
After 40 paces we came to 7 trees that were a mixed bundle of hardwoods and hemlocks. At the base of the cluster of trees we found the treasure that Timothy had hidden - Scout was really pleased with what we found.
Notes
- There is an inkpad in the box
- We don't advise you go after a rainfall because it gets extremely muddy
- If you have any complaints or questions e-mail us at josh3768@comcast.net
