This letterbox is part of the GO and Find Your Hero! program in York County, PA. It will be available from May 30, 2015- August 16, 2015. Further details about the program may be found at www.goyork.org.

The GO and Find Your Hero! program requires you to search for up to 30 “autographs” of community heroes. These “autographs” are wooden posts with engraved plates on them, instead of a traditional letterbox and stamp. Please carefully rub the impression from the engraved plate onto your GO and Find Your Hero! rubbing page, available at any York County library.

The letterbox may be obtained by following the clues, answering the questions correctly, and providing correct responses to the children's library staff at Martin Memorial Library. The letterbox is only available during normal library hours. GO York! level of difficulty = Moderate

- Your trek – as a city postal worker – will take you along the streets of York City. Please walk carefully, use sidewalks, and obey all traffic rules.
- Start from the front steps of the Martin Memorial Library. At what number on East Market Street is the library located? _________
- Turn right (toward the square) and continue to the next intersection.
- Carefully cross the next intersection until you are standing directly in front of the Hotel Yorktowne.
- Looking across the street in front of you. At what number on East Market Street is the Lafayette Club located? _______
- Go back to the corner of the intersection and turn right. Walk along this street until you are across from one of the oldest fire stations in the United States. What animal is perched over the door? ______
- Go to the next intersection, turn right and continue walking along this street. While walking, subtract the street address for the Lafayette Club from the street address for Martin Memorial Library. _____ You are looking for this building on South George Street.
- When you are across from this building, you will notice its name about halfway up on the outside. What is the building’s name? ______________ _____
- Cross the street and head back up South George Street toward the square.
- Turn left at the square and locate a crosswalk near some parked cars. Cross there and continue straight into the park area between the buildings.
- In front of you should be a statue of a small girl. On what date was that statue, commemorating York Fest, dedicated? _________________
- Continue through the park and through the “street of hanging lights.”
- When you reach the next street, turn right and continue through two intersections.
- Double the date on which the statue was dedicated, and walk to this location on North Duke Street.
- In this parking lot, you will notice another mural. How old was Frederick Gable when he was fighting for his life? _______
- Now walk back to North Duke Street, turn right and continue up to the next corner.
- Carefully cross to your left and continue one block back to Martin Memorial Library.
