In the Hobbit, Bilbo and the other travelers have to venture through Mirkwood, which is an eerie forest where they encournter giant spider and lose their sense of time. Don't drink or eat anything in the forest--you'll hallucinate and be trapped there forever.
From I-25: take the exit of a ‘Christian denomination that starts with a B’ east until you see a lane named after ‘a red furry woodland animal.' Turn left and pass Woodmeadow Drive until you get to a split rail fence.
Park on the street and follow the gravel pathway along the fence up hill. The trail leads between the abandoned Black Forest Baptist Campgrounds and backyards of the Ridge at Fox Run neighborhood.
Pass the large rotting log to your left, follow the path east to the end of the fences on either side. Stay on the trail and head into the woods, under an archway of two spindly pines towards two moss-covered stumps. In the center of the larger stump, you'll find what you seek.
Please rehide well.
