The Wild Rose was adopted by the Province of Alberta to be its official floral emblem in 1930 and has been pictured on license plates since 1987. The fragrant flowers are bright pink with petals 3-5 cm in size and can be found almost everywhere in Alberta, including Bow Valley Provincial Park, where this letterbox can be found on the Many Springs Interpretive Trail.
Directions:
From Trans Canada Hwy 1 go north on Hwy 1X for about 0.2 km then turn left into Bow Valley Provincial Park. Go left at intersection to Whitefish Day Use Area and park by Many Springs Trail.
Clues:
Walk on Many Springs Trail to beginning of loop and go left (clockwise) to the wood viewing deck. Continue on the trail 50 steps to where it bends right. Go left off trail 15 steps to pine tree 5 steps beyond another one. LB is hanging on back branch 5 feet hight. Please leave attached.
